How to Resign as a Member of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP)

To resign, please login to your DCP member account and click on the deregister button from there to deregister.

But first,

We value every member of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) and their contributions toward building a fair, just, and inclusive Kenya. However, we understand that circumstances may arise where a member may wish to resign from the party. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you through the resignation process.

Step 1: Reflect on Your Decision

Before proceeding with your resignation, take time to reflect on your decision. Consider discussing your concerns with a trusted party official or representative, as we value feedback and would appreciate the opportunity to address any issues.

Step 2: Draft a Formal Resignation Letter

Prepare a formal resignation letter addressed to the party’s Secretary-General. The letter should include the following details:

  • Your full name.
  • Your party membership number.
  • The date of your resignation.
  • A clear statement indicating your decision to resign from the party.
  • Optional: Briefly outline your reasons for resigning (feedback is always appreciated but not mandatory).

Example:

[Your Name]
[Membership Number]
[Address]
[Email Address]
[Phone Number]

[Date]

Secretary-General
Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP)
[Party Address]

Dear Secretary-General,

I am writing to formally resign as a member of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), effective immediately/as of [specific date]. I have appreciated being part of a party committed to inclusivity, fairness, and justice, and I am grateful for the opportunities to contribute to its mission.

[Optional feedback]

Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]

Step 3: Submit Your Resignation Letter

Send your resignation letter to the party’s headquarters or your local branch office. You may submit it via:

  • Email: Send a scanned copy of your signed letter to [members@dcpkenya.com].
  • Post: Mail the letter to the party’s official address.
  • In Person: Hand-deliver the letter to your nearest party office.

Step 4: Confirmation of Resignation

Once your resignation is processed, you will receive a confirmation from the party acknowledging your resignation. This will serve as official documentation that your membership has been terminated.

Step 5: Return Party Materials

If you hold any official party materials, such as membership cards, badges, or documents, kindly return them to your local branch or the party headquarters.

Step 6: Update Your Records

Ensure that you have no outstanding obligations to the party. If you were holding an official position or handling party resources, ensure a proper handover before your departure.
