About DCP Party

The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) is a social democratic political party dedicated to building a fair, just, and inclusive Kenya. Social democracy, to DCP, means the state's obligation to ensure equitable distribution of national resources through appropriate interventions while fostering private entrepreneurship and innovation. Our vision is rooted in the values of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, particularly those outlined in Chapter 4 (The Bill of Rights), which guarantees social and economic rights, including health, education, and the right to social security (Article 43).

Legal Foundation:
The 2010 Constitution of Kenya, particularly in Chapter 4 (The Bill of Rights), affirms these values by guaranteeing social and economic rights, including health, education, and the right to social security (Article 43). Article 10 of the Constitution emphasizes national values and principles of governance, such as inclusivity, equity, and social justice. The DCP also aligns with Vision 2030, Kenya’s blueprint for national development, which emphasizes equitable development across all sectors to eliminate inequalities.

Our Vision
To create a Kenya where every citizen, regardless of their background, enjoys equal access to resources, opportunities, and justice. A Kenya that upholds the principles of social democracy, fostering economic prosperity with fairness and inclusion for all.

Kenya’s Gini coefficient of 0.428 (as of 2022, Kenya National Bureau of Statistics) reveals significant income inequality. The DCP is committed to reducing this disparity through equitable resource distribution and evidence-based policies.
